NEWS

PRAT ATTACK in common with many other wikis we are receiving stupid spam attacks. These pointless attacks do however require our immediate attention and resources we can hardly spare. We therefore may have to curtail new accounts. Please bare with us.

NEW RECORD - in July we served up almost half a million pages (not just hits - actual pages)!

I am pleased to say that we have now over 2500 registered users plus of course countless unregistered visitors. (unfortunately many of these are spammers - we will weed them out in time)

We have an Atom feed (http://www.welshpedia.co.uk/wiki/wales/index.php?title=Special:Recentchanges&feed=atom) and RSS Feed (http://www.welshpedia.co.uk/wiki/wales/index.php?title=Special:Recentchanges&feed=rss) available. These list the latest changes to the site.

NEW category - Anglesey

The Railways category has now reached 30 articles.

Another landmark - Over 1500 Articles are now available.

Our regional Interactive Maps are ready.

The Browse feature is now operational.

We now accept anonymous articles and to make life a little easy for those of us who are not too confident with formatting we have added a simple way to submit these articles EASY ADD (http://www.welshpedia.co.uk/wiki/wales/easy.php) Just type a heading and the article and that is it.

September 7 - with 1761 articles.

PAGE HITS - Way out !

Our servers have been under considerable strain recently - forcing us to introduce a new page caching system. This only applies to certain pages at certain times. This should take some of the strain and make access a bit quicker. However, this will affect the page hit counters - sorry.
